What are you willing to do to get it?
Have you tried everything but keep coming up short?
Does it feel like what you want is just out of reach?
Why can’t you get over that hurdle?
What are you pursuing?
A championship?
A role on the team?
Relevance?
A comeback?
A legacy?
What are you willing to do to get it?
Have you tried everything but keep coming up short?
Does it feel like what you want is just out of reach?
Why can’t you get over that hurdle?
I have watched All-Star caliber players cave under pressure.
One mistake leads to another and another. They can’t get out of their own way.
» Is the moment really too big for them?
I have watched 9-game winning streaks turn into 9-game losing streaks.
» Is complacency a real problem?
I was a part of a team with playoff aspirations that fell apart midway through the season.
» How do these things keep happening?
When mistakes accumulate, when frustrations boil over, when nothing works like we expect it to,
we make a crucial mistake.
Our natural response to get out of a rut or to reach the next level is to increase our intensity.
They tell us that we have to work harder than everyone else.
That we can’t take any days off.
That we have to want it more.
It’s true you have to work hard.
And intrinsic desire is the most powerful motivation.
But to get what you’ve never had before, you need a more dynamic approach.
You don’t need an increase in INTENSITY.
You need an increase in CLARITY.
When your mind gets stressed out, you forget a foundational truth:
Who you are is not defined by your performance.
When you compete from an anxious state of mind you:
Over-project
or
Over-protect
You force your will onto the situation rather than let the game come to you
or
You give in to the pressure of the spotlight and miss your opportunity to shine.
You perform your best when your mind is RELAXED.
The world-class performers you admire don’t have superhuman powers.
They weren’t born with a special genetic code.
They have just learned how to internalize this powerful secret.
You can learn it too.
You don’t have to stand in awe of your heroes anymore.
You can become one of them yourself.
But it’s going to take a different approach.
What you have done to get this far is great,
but more effort won’t get you as far as you’re capable.
Another rep in the gym, another hour in the office isn’t the answer to what is keeping you from finally
reaching your pinnacle.
I tried that hustle harder approach.
And if you continue down that path too you will discover the same thing I did:
» It doesn’t produce exponential results.
» It marches you down a path of diminishing returns.
» It fails to tap into the hidden accelerator of your growth and performance.
To reach your full potential and finally bask in the shower of confetti, you need to tap into the power of your mind.
If you don’t develop your mindset you will always come up short of what you could be.
It's not just mindfulness.
It's mindfulness + mindset.
Mindfulness is a starting point.
Breathing exercises, yoga, and headspace meditation make you aware of
what is happening in you and around you.
A developed mindset puts that awareness into action and creates forward momentum.
Mindfulness without mindset training leaves you lying on the couch.
Developing your mindset helps you reap the benefits of what you learn with mindfulness.
You can sharpen your mental skills
without seeing a therapist.
Counseling and medication can be helpful for those who struggle to find a consistent baseline.*
For most people, intentionally upgrading your mindset will take you to the next level.
You aren’t broken or weak for investing time on developing your mental skills.
You are just committed to becoming the best version of yourself that you can be.
And if you do it, the transformation will be obvious to everyone in the locker room, in the arena,
and even at home.
“This program helped our team develop a sense of calmness. We won 5 games (in the state tournament) by a total of 13 points…any coach or any fan will tell you I didn’t look worried, my kids didn’t look worried. We won our first round game at the buzzer. We won our elite eight game with a buzzer beater that sent it to overtime. [We had] that sense of relaxed intensity and focusing on the moment.”

RELAXED MINDSET
Not chillin’ on your couch relaxed, but relaxed internally. A non-anxious presence. Nothing to prove, nothing to hide. Bringing your authentic self to the competition with confidence and humility.
VICTOR MINDSET
The ability to flip obstacles into opportunities and to create advantages out of your disadvantages. An understanding that you are a work in progress, not a finished product. The Victor loves growing even more than winning.
VISIONARY MINDSET
The ability to find a reason to keep showing up and keep moving forward regardless of your current status. Imagining a vision of what this moment could be like to entice motivation and energy.
FOCUSED MINDSET
The ability to quiet your mind even in the midst of chaos and fully engage the present moment. Heightened awareness and undistracted presence. A game-changing superpower that few people actively develop.
PROCESS MINDSET
The love of the process, the practice, the skill building. Disciplined to a routine that keeps you prepared even through moments of discouragement. Learning to harness experiences to position yourself for peak experiences on demand.
EMPATHETIC MINDSET

“Before this program I used to just train, train, train; go in the gym and get shots and a ton of repetitions. I truly believe this program and the mental aspect of the game is the next step for guys like myself. This program has added an extra layer to my basketball game but also with how I approach life situations and dialogue with people in general.”

“It’s a week-to-week eye-opening experience about yourself. I’m 26 years old. I’ve been playing professional basketball for four years and I felt like I had a pretty good grasp on who I was and what I’m doing with my life. Every week this program had me trying new things, experimenting with new things with my mind and my approach to basketball and to life and it opens you up to so much that you don’t know and so much that you have to figure out and it’s challenging but that’s what made it worth it for me.”

Frequently Asked Questions
The toolkit is grouped into the 7 essential mindsets, plus a bonus mindset at the end. Each of the 7 mindsets is broken into 3 skills with resistance-based exercises to develop the mindset.
It is best to follow the curriculum in order. Each mindset builds on previous mindsets and each skill builds on previous skills. After completing the entire course, feel free to revisit individual mindsets or skills as needed.
Most of the exercises are thought or awareness exercises that can be completed as you go through your day. There are a few exercises that will require you to write something, connect with someone, or spend time in meditation.
As for the videos, each video is 3-5 minutes long. You can complete an entire mindset in less than 20 minutes. However, you do not have to watch an entire mindset at once. You can watch one skill at a time.
You can move at your own pace, but binge-watching the entire program in 1-2 days is not recommended. It is important to give yourself time to wrestle with the exercises for each mindset. Plan to spend 1-2 weeks on each of the mindsets. At that pace, you will complete the program in 2-4 months
Either one. This program is designed to help you excel in the high-stress and high-pressure moments of your life. The more stress you are experiencing, the more opportunities you have for growth. The exercises and skills you will learn in this program will equip you to handle the moments in front of you. So, you can use the program during the season and have real-time application or in the off-season and rely on hypothetical scenarios. In our experience, real-time application accelerates the learning.
Everyone will benefit from developing mindset skills. This particular program is best suited for high school age and older. Parents and coaches of younger athletes can benefit from learning the frameworks in this program and sharing them with their children as appropriate.
The Toolkit is GREAT for teams! It stimulates meaningful conversation about the experiences and influences impacting each of your athletes. You won't just learn how many siblings they have. The exercises surface conversation about the experiences that have shaped them the most and how those experiences still impact them today. It creates an understanding of each person's individual fears and desires. And it gives your team a shared language to quickly ask for help and meet each other's needs.
The Team Toolkit empowers coaches with a curriculum and a conversation starter. The teaching videos and exercises do all of the heavy lifting for you. Encourage your athletes to wrestle with the exercises and then use the discussion guide to facilitate conversation about what they are learning. Feel free to connect the lessons back to your program's core values as well.
You don't need a background in psychology to help your athletes develop mental skills. You just need to be willing to invest in them and comfortable with a little vulnerability. That's where the magic happens.
The Team Toolkit has all the resources you need to install a mindset development program for your team. The videos teach the mindsets, the exercises help develop the mindsets, and the discussion guide helps facilitate a powerful conversation within your team.
The best approach is to carve out time each week for mindset training. It can be done in one or two 20-minute sessions per week. Watch the videos for one mindset (20 minutes), give your athletes a few days to wrestle with the exercises on their own, and then discuss the mindset as a team. Feel free to move at your pace. Slow down or speed up as needed.
Yes, this program is designed for high-performing athletes and coaches who are pushing themselves to their limits.* You voluntarily subject yourself to high-stress and high-pressure experiences because you know that's how you grow. That will test you mentally and emotionally.
In the Relaxed Mindset, you will learn to become a detached observers of your feelings and emotions. You don't have to be dominated by them and you don't have to stuff them down. We teach you how to be aware and learning.
